Decompression Therapy

A Non-Surgical Approach to Back & Neck Relief
Whether it’s from sleeping in an awkward position, long hours at a desk, or too much time on digital devices, back and neck discomfort can take a toll. That’s why at Simply Chiropractic, we provide SpineMED spinal decompression therapy—a non-surgical approach some people choose when dealing with disc-related concerns.

What Is Spinal Decompression?
Spinal decompression therapy uses gentle, computer-controlled forces to help reduce pressure within the spine. This process may support fluid and nutrient movement into the discs, which can assist the body’s natural healing responses. Unlike traditional traction methods, the SpineMED system is designed to apply precise, targeted adjustments in a comfortable and controlled way.
How Does It Work?
The SpineMED system continuously monitors and adjusts tension for accuracy. Its design allows Dr. Stephane to focus on specific spinal segments with consistency, while the patented pelvic restraint system offers secure positioning without traditional harnesses.
For lumbar sessions, patients lie on a comfortable table while the pelvic tilt feature adjusts between 0-25 degrees. For cervical care, the head can be positioned between 0-30 degrees of flexion.
Common Uses
Spinal decompression therapy may be considered for individuals experiencing:
- Herniated or bulging discs
- Degenerative disc changes
- Sciatica or radiating leg discomfort
- Facet joint irritation
- Spinal stenosis
- Ongoing back or neck discomfort
What to Expect
A typical SpineMED program involves 20-25 sessions, each lasting about 30 minutes. Sessions are usually scheduled 3-5 times per week over 4-6 weeks. You remain fully clothed, and many people find the process relaxing—some even doze off during their appointment.
Improvements, if they occur, often build gradually over time. While individual experiences vary, some patients report feeling more comfortable within the first few weeks.

Why Consider Spinal Decompression?
Spinal decompression systems like SpineMED are cleared for use in North America and are designed to minimize muscle tension that may reduce traction benefits. The ability to deliver targeted forces may make this option suitable for a broad range of people, depending on their health status and goals.

Chiropractic Care
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience.
Diversified
At Simply Chiropractic, one of the many adjustment styles we use is referred to as Diversified. Among the most popular chiropractic techniques, this hands-on approach allows us to manually adjust your spinal bones into proper position.
Diversified can be successful in helping patients of all ages and stages get back to living the life they love, naturally.
CBP®
Clinical Biomechanics of Posture®, also known as CBP, helps produce optimal posture and spinal alignment. As your spine assumes a more competent relationship with gravity, symptoms like pain will diminish so health can return.
Activator Methods®
We’re proud to use one of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world. With the Activator® handheld instrument, we can provide precise, gentle adjustments where and when you need it most.
This technique is often ideal for patients of all ages and walks of life. Children love our “clicker instrument”, and seniors can comfortably be adjusted more accurately using less energy.
And so much more
At Simply Chiropractic, we are proud to also offer Chiropractic Adjustments, Decompression Table, Standing Electronic Foot Scan (Orthotics), X-Ray Onsite, Clinical History / Imaging Review, Exercise Rehabilitation & More!
Do you have any questions?
The consultation aims to better understand your pain and its origin, to give you a clear initial assessment of your condition, and to determine if neurovertebral decompression or the chiropractic care offered at Simply Chiropractic can help you. It’s also an opportunity to meet Dr. Stéphane and feel comfortable before proceeding with any treatment.
We take the time to discuss your pain: its nature, duration, intensity, and what you have already tried to relieve it. We also review your medical history and goals. From there, Dr. Stéphane guides you toward the options best suited to your situation, whether it’s SpineMED neurovertebral decompression, chiropractic care, or a combination of both.
This non-surgical approach can relieve chronic back and neck pain, improve your mobility, and allow you to resume your daily activities. It is particularly suitable for people suffering from herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or disc degeneration. In short: less pain, without surgery.
The initial consultation with Dr. Stéphane is free of charge. X-rays may be necessary to establish a more precise diagnosis; any associated costs, if applicable, will be clearly explained to you beforehand. No surprises.
The best way to find out is to speak with Dr. Stéphane. During a phone or in-clinic consultation, he will assess your condition and can quickly tell you if this approach is right for you. No pressure, just an honest evaluation.
Neurovertebral decompression is suitable for a wide range of adult patients, generally from 20 to 85 years and older. Whether you have suffered from chronic pain for years or are looking to avoid surgery, this approach can be adapted to your reality. Chiropractic techniques like the Activator® are particularly appreciated by older patients for their gentleness and precision.
A neurovertebral decompression program typically includes between 20 and 25 sessions of approximately 30 minutes each, at a rate of 3 to 5 sessions per week over 4 to 6 weeks. The treatment takes place in two phases: an intensive phase to relieve pain, followed by a stabilization phase to maintain the results. The exact duration is determined after your initial assessment with Dr. Stéphane.
